UNDATED (WHTC) -- It’s difficult to find any organization that is opposed to Proposal One, which would eliminate the personal property tax levied on business equipment purchases. The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners is expected to adopt a resolution in support of Proposal One at their meeting on July 22nd. The tax is argued to limit growth and job expansion. A “yes” vote would provide stable replacement funding and the amount for Ottawa County is estimated at $2.6-million for the general fund. County residents are encouraged to vote “yes” for Proposal One on August 5th.
