KALAMAZOO, MI (WHTC) - A retired economic development marketer who has been on the Western Michigan University board for nearly four years became a vice-chairman of that panel yesterday. James Hettinger of Fennville was elected by his colleagues to be second in command to Jeanne Carlson, who was elevated from vice-chair to head the board, replacing Bill Johnston. Both moves are for one year. Hettinger’s term runs through the end of 2016.
