HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Two ordinance amendments are scheduled for a “first reading” during tonight’s Holland City Council meeting. One would allow murals on buildings such as ESCAPE Ministries on 32nd Street; a graffiti crackdown had threatened to force artwork from at-risk youth in ESCAPE’s programs to be promptly removed. The other would put Holland’s fire code in line with new international standards. Council will also be asked to approve allowing Local First to sell alcoholic beverages during its scheduled Lakeshore Street Party in the Washington Square vicinity on September 20th.
