ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) - For the second time this week, there’s been an injury involving a moped in Ottawa County.
According to deputies, an un-helmeted 15-year-old Jacob Grigsby of Allendale was apparently scooting between parked cars in the lot outside of the Family Fare grocery store off of Lake Michigan Drive and 64th Avenue. Around 7 PM last night, he smacked the side of a passing vehicle and was thrown from his machine. Grigsby was taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle driver, 29-year-old Matthew Schaap of West Olive, was not hurt.
On Tuesday, 28-year-old Jason Overway of Holland was seriously injured when he fell off of a longboard that was being pulled by a moped and hit his head on the pavement of Aniline Avenue between Lakewood Boulevard and James Street on Holland’s North Side.
