GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - A delay has been issued in the start of a trial for a 43-year-old Holland woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death this past February. The defense attorney for Jodie McLean successfully petitioned Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing for a continuance while she undergoes an examination to determine if she is competent to stand trial. McLean allegedly stabbed 38-year-old Steven Gordon with a kitchen knife during an argument at an East 20th Street apartment unit. She was set for trial on September 30th, but no new trial date was immediately set after this delay was issued.
