HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A 30-year-old man charged in the death of a Holland motorcyclist earlier this month has a court appearance slated today.
Eulises Mora-Hernandez appears before Holland District Court Judge Bradley Knoll for a preliminary hearing into various charges stemming from the August 3rd death of David Achterhof, as the 57-year-old biker died when a SUV driven by Mora-Hernandez slammed into him head on along 32nd Street near Apple Avenue in Holland. Mora-Hernandez and one of the passengers in his vehicle fled the scene after the collision, but were captured a short distance away, while a third man in the SUV was also taken into custody.
Mora-Hernandez is being held on 250 thousand dollars bond, while the two passengers have also been detained by Judge Knoll in the Ottawa County Jail as witnesses, with prosecutors saying that the three Mexican nationals' legal status in the US are in question.
