HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Motorists who use the River Avenue Bridge to get into downtown Holland will be inconvenienced today. The left two southbound lanes at the base of the bridge, where River Avenue veers off into Pine Avenue, will be blocked off as the Uniting Sun sculpture will be erected on the traffic island that divides traffic. This is part of a two-week-long effort in establishing what supporters say will be a new symbol of Holland’s diverse background. More barrels will be in place tomorrow through Friday on the right northbound lane, and from next Monday through next Wednesday on the southbound side, in order to set poles for the renamed Unity Bridge.
