UNDATED (WHTC) -- Travel on U.S. 131 South has been treacherous at times today and the National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow advisory for West Michigan's Lakeshore counties until 9 P.M. Vision is limited to short distances and tow trucks are busy helping people that have slid off the road. MDOT crews are on the roads plowing and laying down salt. The forecast is calling for the snow showers to diminish late this afternoon. MSP troopers advise slowing down, make sure there's lots of room between your vehicle and other drivers and have your headlights on for safety. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
