LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC) - A Lakeshore landmark is ready for holiday visitors.
However, officials of the Dorr E. Felt Manison are looking ahead to the summer, asking patrons and community members to vote for their facility in a nationwide contest. Levitt Pavilions, a national nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the social fabric of America through the power of free, live music, is sponsoring the Levitt AMP [Your City] Grant Awards competition. An offshoot of its signature creative place-making program of 50-plus free concerts annually at each Levitt venue, tailored to large cities with metro populations of over 400 thousand, the AMP program is specifically designed to meet the needs and capacity of small and mid-sized cities. Grants of up to 25 thousand dollars will be awarded to 10 US-based nonprofit organizations or municipalities, partnering with a nonprofit, which serve towns and cities with metro populations of up to 400,000.
Voting on this program ends on Sunday, November 30th. In this video, Felt Mansion Director Pat Meyer talks about the program, as well as what her landmark is doing for the holiday season.
