HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The Holland Public Safety Firefighter of the Year is Lieutenant Joel Cook, as selected by the Command Team from nominations made by colleagues and supervisors. A 10-year full-time veteran of the department with 18 years of firefighting experience, he coordinates annual maintenance and repairs to equipment and vehicles as the HPS fire apparatus officer. Cook was cited for his leadership abilities in a variety of areas, and joins Police Officer Joel Maat as annual department honorees.
