ZEELAND (WHTC) - West Michigan Community Bank will be building a new branch in the city of Zeeland this summer. The city’s Planning Commission Thursday voted to recommend approval of a rezoning request for the bank, which plans to build the new branch at the northeast corner of State Street and Washington Avenue. The branch would replace West Michigan Community Bank’s current location in the Batts Plaza on the northwest corner of State and Washington. A second Planning Commission vote is expected later this spring before going on to City Council for final action. Bank President Phil Koning says the new branch should be open this fall.
