HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The state House this week approved a nearly 49 billion-dollar budget for fiscal 2014. About two billion dollars less than what Governor Snyder had wanted when he presented his proposed financial blueprint in early February, the budget mirrors what the legislature put before the Chief Executive last year, according to House Appropriations Committee Chairman Joe Haveman of Holland. In this excerpt from a Friday appearance on WHTC's "Talk of the Town" program, the third-term Republican told host Juke Van Oss that the budget ball is now in the Senate’s court. Governor Snyder is looking to have a finished product on his desk for his signature by June 1st.
