COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC) - Various fire departments in northern Ottawa County responded to a series of small brush fires along I-96 between Coopersville and Marne last night. Investigators say that oil coming out from underneath the vintage Coopersville and Marne Railway Company train making a test run apparently ignited the blazes. It took nearly an hour before crews were able to stop the train, which is scheduled to begin service this weekend.
