Summertime is almost here and that means it’s time for ice cream. Holland’s own Hudsonville Ice Cream Company is again partnering with Pure Michigan to develop the next official ice cream flavor. Caryn Beatty of Hudsonville Ice Cream says people send some far-fetched ideas, such as Petoskey stones, wood chips and construction cones. She says that the contest should be fun and that she hopes people's imaginations will run wild. Last year’s flavor, Pure Michigan Caramel Apple, was a big seller but the best seller was Tiger Trax, the official ice cream of the Detroit Tigers. People are asked to enter their new flavor entries in a contest that runs from today through May 22nd. The winning flavor will be revealed on June 21st, the first day of summer.
