LAKETOWN TOWNSHIP, MI (WHTC) -- An accident Friday afternoon sent a 6-year-old boy to the hospital. The crash happened in Laketown Township around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of 147th Ave and 62nd St. According to Graafschap Fire Chief Cal Haverdink, two other people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries. Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputies report that a Jeep Cherokee hit a Pontiac Montana van. Haverdink say that passersby were able to pull a 6-year-old boy out of the van. The little boy had head injuries and AeroMed helicopter took him Spectrum Health Hospital in Grand Rapids. The boy’s mother, who was driving the van, and his 8-year-old brother received minor injuries and were taken to the hospital by AMR ambulance. The accident is under investigation.
