SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) - While the Saugatuck City Council goes through some housekeeping items in its first meeting of the New Year tonight, the panel will take a moment to honor one of its long-time members. Voters in November turned Henry Van Singel out of office after 14 years, as he finished fourth in the race for three Council seats. His service to his community, including a two-year stint as Mayor, will be marked by a special State Legislative proclamation presented to him by House Representative Bob Genetski during this evening’s meeting.
