JENISON, MI (WHTC) - The Georgetown Township Board will formally abandon plans for building an 8.1 million-dollar new township hall and offices at the junction of Main and Baldwin Streets. Public outcry over the structure’s design, the costs and the board’s priorities led to the discarding of the proposal and to seek other alternatives. The heavy loss of retailers along the Chicago Drive corridor has also led to criticism of the board.
