UNDATED (WHTC) -- Not many people are riding bicycles right now but when Spring does arrive, cyclists will legally be able to use a more understandable signal for making right turns.  Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation on Tuesday allowing bicyclists to use an alternate right-turn signal, making it easier for motorists to understand a cyclist’s intentions.  The existing law, which was written in 1949, was passed at a time when most automobiles lacked turned signal indicators and drivers also had to use hand signals.  The bill, which is Public Act number one for 2014, allows bikers to simply extend their right arm to indicate a right turn.
