GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - A 29-year-old Holland man could be a senior citizen the next time he walks as a free man.
Consecutive and concurrent sentences were handed down yesterday to Mark Steven Randall Harris that may lead to over four decades for him in prison as a repeat offender. He was convicted last month by an Ottawa County Circuit Court jury of all seven felony counts stemming from a December incident in which he broke into the vacant Lincoln Avenue apartment of his estranged wife and waited for her to come home. Once she did, he raped and assaulted her; when her sister came over to help, he held both women at gunpoint for about an hour before fleeing. Harris was arrested the following day.
He has convictions of resisting and obstructing a police officer, possession of marijuana, driving on a suspended license, and domestic violence on his criminal record; Harris had been on probation when this incident occurred.
