UNDATED (WHTC) -- The victim in an industrial fatality accident in Zeeland has been identified as 49-year-old Ricardo Ramos-Bermudez of Grand Rapids. The accident happened early Saturday morning. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the Hillshire Farms plant on 96th Ave. in Zeeland just before 2 A.M. Captain Mark Bennett reports that an autopsy conducted today showed the cause of death as accidental asphyxiation due to the suspect being caught in the machinery. The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. Hillshire Farms is also conducting an investigation. Ramos-Bermudez is survived by his wife, Dominga Lucas and three daughters under the age of ten.
