HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The discussion of a proposed gun range in Holland Heights took longer than the budget discussion during Wednesday night’s Holland City Council meeting. Many residents of the neighborhood were at the meeting and most of them voiced their opposition to the plan, none more eloquently then Linda Falstad, who is a member of the Planning Commission. She had three questions for City Council: 1. Is this a community need intended to meet the neighborhood shopping and merchandising needs in Holland Heights: 2. Traffic and parking, 8th St. and Paw Paw Dr. have been a concern since 2007 and 3. What is the intent of neighborhood commercial zoning? After much debate among City Council members, the zoning of C-1, commercial/residential, was amended to read that gun ranges are not included in the C-1 zone.
