UNDATED (WHTC) -- An accident in Zeeland Township Saturday evening sent two people to the hospital. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the accident in the eastbound lanes of I- 196 just before 6 P.M. Sgt. Kristi Wendt says that the invesitgation shows that a vehicle with a flat tire in front of 53-year-old Donald Vedder caused him to slow down. A vehicle driven by an unnamed Grand Rapids 30-year-old man could not stop in time, rearending Vedder's vehicle, whiched rolled over into the median. Both men were transported to Metro Health in stable condition. I-196 was shut down for about an hour while the accident was cleared.
