HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- This afternoon the weather was perfect for parade viewing and the Perrigo Volksparade did not disappoint. Michigan Governor Rick Snyder was here for lunch and to take part in the traditional Street Scrubbing along with Mayor Dykstra and other officials. Snyder says the Tulip Time Festival is a special event and after last year without the tulips it's a great day. He also talked about the state of disaster declaration made on Tuesday, which included Ottawa County. Snyder says the declaration starts the process to work with the federal government. FEMA will be doing an assessment on what damage is done, what's possible and what would be appropriate.
